Prince (1958 - 2016), Requiescat in pace
In remembrance of two greats.
Miles Davis and Prince in Paisley Park, Minneapolis, on 31th December 1987.
The song starts with a heavy James Brown-esque funk jam: "It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night"; then Miles (in purple!) makes it on stage at around 5:30 for a long solo and interplay with Prince. He leaves the stage while the band goes on (and the excerpt ends there).
The bootleg is well-known but I can't help watching it again from time to time. That was almost 30 years ago, but still a killer (unless of course one is not into Miles' post-retirement funk stuff).
To my knowledge, this is the unique pictured trace of the two together.
One may only wonder what they could have produced together, had they the opportunity to collaborate. May them both rest in peace — and jam !

残された録音というとCan I Play with U?だけでしょうかね。。
本当にもっとガッツリと二人が取り組むのを見てみたかったですね。。。

COWさん、マイルスとプリンスの関係については、この記事で知っている限りのことは書きました。記事タイトル通り「知られざる」関係についてなので、みなさん知っているであろう「キャン・アイ・プレイ・ウィズ・ユー？」のことは書いていませんが。
